Isabelle is here!

6 days early! After a wonderful evening at religious education praying the rosary with over 100 kiddos, I went home to relax for the night. After going to bed, I just knew the newest addition to our family was on the way.  My water broke at 11:30 PM. And off we went to the hospital.  Isabelle was born at 5:23 AM after a scare of her heartbeat decreasing. I was told to push without contractions. And then she was there, in my arms, screaming at the top of her lungs at the cold, bright, new world.

I ordered breakfast and was then sent to a new room. After we got into our new room, as I settled into sleep, I had a gush of blood and started passing huge blood clots. It was so scary. All I could do was shake. The nurse called the doctor, then gave me a lot of medicine, and after he saw me, he said I was going to be fine.  I was scared to fall asleep. I had actually asked Catherine to pray for me because I was having a fear of dying at childbirth with Isabelle.  But through the whole experience as I thought about dying I wasn't scared. So I knew everything was going to be okay.  I was very happy when people started visiting me to take my mind off all the drama.

Robert and Jo Morken came and then Matt spent the afternoon. Marie came by as Carlos and Matt were for leaving to go pick up Arianna so she could meet her baby sister for the first time. Ben and Christi also visited for a short period of time because they didn't want to be there when Arianna got to met Isabelle. Arianna was very excited to see me and meet her sister. Soon after she met Isabelle, Carlos and I told her Isabelle had gotten her a  present. She became very eager to leave and go home. Isabelle had bought her a kitchen and she was so excited to see it.  I ordered dinner, pizza and french fries, delicious! Catherine came by that evening and hung out with me until about 8 PM. When she left it was just Isabelle and I for the night. Carlos was home with Arianna all settled into sleep and Izzy and I were up for a long night. It felt wonderful to just have her in my arms all evening.

The next morning I got to watch all my shows (charmed and supernatural)!  I ordered breakfast and the nurse came in and helped get Isabelle ready to go home as I took a shower. I felt so different this time around. Knowing that I had Arianna already made me feel so natural at being a mom.

When I got home on Friday, everything just felt so normal. Isabelle just became a part of the family, a family on a schedule for their toddler daughter. Marina came over to visit. And then we just had a nice quiet evening at home. Saturday was just a normal day hanging out. On Sunday, Matt came over to help me with the girls while Carlos went to the airport and picked up his mom. It was a great having Geri here. She helped out with things more than she knows. All she did was sit with us, talk with us and go shopping but it made life feel so normal.

I can't believe how well Isabelle has been doing. She's been sleeping for four hour  chunks at night. Being rested has helped this transition so much. I am just so happy she is here!
